Promotion of young talents along the 4Ds

The Fraunhofer Cluster of Excellence Immune-Mediated Diseases CIMD aims to facilitate and simplify education along the 4Ds (Drugs, Diagnostics, Data, Devices) by supporting young scientists. Cooperation between different disciplines is to be encouraged - a prerequisite for the implementation of 4Ds. In addition to various workshops along the 4Ds, the cluster is planning a summer school in Berlin, intended for doctoral students and young postdocs (max. 2 years after doctorate) in the field of immune-mediated diseases.

Content and aims:

Practice-oriented research and development activities of industrial partners, university and Fraunhofer researchers along the 4Ds. Networking of junior staff among each other and with partners from industry and research. Promotion of interdisciplinary cooperation within the subject area of immune-mediated diseases.

Please note: All participants are expected to make an active contribution from their own research project in form of a short pitch (short presentation with/at a poster). The presented project can be any project the participant is working on.

Application deadline: April 7, 2022

Target group: PhD students and young postdocs from industry, universities and Fraunhofer

Registration

Registration is required for participation.

Please send your registration to info@cimd.fraunhofer.de.

Please submit with your application the application form (see below), in which you briefly describe a project you would like to present and your motivation to participate. The presented project does not need to be a CIMD project, but can be any project you are working on.

The submission of your registration form does not guarantee your participation, but acts as an application for participation. All applications will be reviewed as soon as possible after the application deadline of April 7, 2022. A Panel will select the participants based on suitability and area of expertise.
Immediately after the selection process, all who have applied will be informed about their participation or non-participation.

Costs

Costs will be covered by the Fraunhofer CIMD*:
- 3 overnight stays (incl. breakfast)
- All social events planned and described in the program
- Travel costs (e.g. train ticket)

*The budget for the Summer School was obtained from the BMBF.
